Cosplay has been around for many years now, but with the help of 3D printing, we’re seeing some amazingly creative applications. Woolie Madden, host of the Super Best Friendcast podcast, is an avid player of the video game Overwatch. He needed some help putting the finishing touches on his costume for the character of Lúcio.  

Lúcio’s main weapon in the game is a sonic gun that buffets enemies with projectiles and blasts of sound. With the majority of the costume already made it was our job to take the digital model of the sonic amplifier and make it a reality.

The sonic amplifier was printed in PLA and then finished with traditional paint to give a weathered and authentic look to match the character. We’re very happy with how it turned out!
